Samsung have really taken the netbook market by storm and have released a number of models. The
Samsung N310 is the latest. It looks great and they have really given some thought to the casing of the unit. It features a curved case with a rubber shell and comes in a number of colours including black, blue and orange.
The 10.1″ screen is fantastic and really manages to produce some bright, crisp images. It also features a great keyboard which has a lot of spacing between keys and is very easy to type on. The touchpad is also fantastic.
It features a standard spec including 160GB hard disk and 1GB of RAM, although this can be upgraded to 2GB. The battery can produce over four hours of power and it features a good number of USB and other ports / connectors.
The Samsung N310 is another great netbook from Samsung that has a standard spec but some nice features such as its design and a very usable keyboard.

Packard Bell Dot S is the latest netbook from the firm that is now owned by Acer.
The Dot S features many of the standard netbook features but there are a few extras. Firstly, it has the fastest Intel Atom processor currently available making it slightly faster than its competition.
Another great feature is the battery. It will easily keep running for over six hours. It also looks great. The casing comes in many different colours. The keyboard is a good size and easy to type on and although the trackpad is a little smaller than normal, it is also easy to use.
It comes with a great screen but a touch screen monitor would work well with it as an extra.
It features a 10.1″ screen, 160GB hard disk and 1GB RAM. It has some plus points such as the processor and battery but there is nothing completely revolutionary about this machine.

Toshiba Satellite U500 laptop is the latest machine from Toshiba and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. It features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor along with 4GB Ram and 320GB hard disk among other things giving it a very good spec for the money.
The unit looks great and it features a unique and modern design. It features a 13.3″ screen and is also very light making it a very good option for business travellers. It features a unique vent design meaning that it doesn’t heat up when using it on your lap.
The U500 comes with a new Toshiba innovation called Eco mode. This mode lets you optimise the battery life. The standard battery will last over two hours which isn’t bad, but Eco mode will push this closer to three.
The performance of the machine is very good thanks to its high spec and it even features a dedicated graphics card meaning you can even use it for games.
This is a perfect option if you are trying to decide which laptop to purchase for your business trips / travels but don’t want to compromise on spec.
