Samsung NB30 Netbook Review

Samsung NB30

Samsung could definitely win awards for producing the largest line of netbooks while still managing to make every model as desirable as the next. The Samsung NB30 netbook is an extra rugged version of their standard design.

It comes with a hard disk that can sense if it has been dropped. This will help prevent data loss from sudden jolts or knocks. It also features a scratch and water resistant case. This makes it a great option for a child or if you need a machine to take on more rugged activities.

It comes with the standard 10.1″ screen which comes with a crisp picture that can be viewed easily outside making it a great companion for outdoor work. Overall, it is one of the most solid netbook designs on the market but it is slightly heavier than most at 1.3kg.

The keyboard has been updated on the NB30 making it even easier to type on than many of its counterparts.

The spec of the machine is excellent with a well powered Intel processor and 1GB RAM. Battery life is very good at over 11 hours. A number of expansion ports are included covering USB that you can use to charge when the machine is not on.

Overall, this should be the choice of machine for the person deciding which laptop to buy to meet the demands of the more rugged environment.

Toshiba NB300 Netbook Review

Toshiba NB300

There are many netbooks available now on the market, but the Toshiba NB300 is a worthy contender for your shortlist of which laptop to buy.

The machine comes with a well powered CPU which is a slightly higher spec than the standard netbook CPU. It delivers excellent performance as a result. The rest of the spec is a standard netbook specification; 1GB RAM, 250GB hard disk and a vast number of expansion ports. It would be nice if it had 2GB RAM but it can be easily upgraded and there are many videos on YouTube showing how to do this.

The NB300 which is the replacement for the previous NB200 comes with an accelerometer which is designed to protect your hard drive if there is any excessive movement. This will help you from losing data.

It features a unique “sleep and charge” port. This means you can plug in any of your devices such as mobile phones or iPods and charge them while the machine is switched off. This is great because the machine features a great battery life so it makes sense to use it as a charging device as well.

It also comes in as a light machine weighing just over 1kg. It features a comfortable keyboard and touchpad making it easy to type on for long periods.

This netbook should be on your shortlist of which machine to buy alongside the Samsung N210.
