
The Acer Aspire 1410 is the latest machine from Acer targeted at the general home user. It is an extremely portable machine and weighs just 1.4kg. It comes with an 11.6″ screen which produces a nice quality image. It is also very thin adding to its portability.
Battery life is phenomenal, offering over 7 hours of power from one charge. All of the components of the machine are designed to limit excessive power use. It is not the most powerful machine available, but performance is good enough. It is possible to multi-task and conduct most general activities from editing photos to browsing the web and word processing.
It features a nice build and stylish case design making it a solid companion for the road. It features a nice keyboard that is easy to type on and also has the 802.11n wireless integrated. Multiple ports are also included such as VGA, HDMI and USB.
This machine is extremely affordable and delivers what it sets out to do which is a lightweight, portable machine with decent performance.

Acer have been producing netbooks for a few years now and they launched their line with the Aspire One. The latest addition is the Acer Aspire One 532. It comes packed with a high powered Atom processor from Intel that really helps it process some more intensive applications.
It features better performance than previous versions as well as an extended battery life and can run for nearly 6 hours on one charge. It comes with the standard issues 10.1″ screen and a good resolution. The build quality is solid and looks great. The only downside is the fashionable shiny case can get smudged by fingerprints quite easily.
The keyboard is a pleasure to type on and features keys that are raised higher than normal. It also comes with a good amount of expansion ports and integrated wireless. It is very portable at just over 1kg making it one to consider when looking at netbooks.

Acer have been producing laptops for a number of years now and were also one of the first manufacturers to start making netbooks. The
Acer Aspire One 531 netbook is the follow on model from the Aspire One which was a very popular model.
The 531 features a larger 10″ screen an integrated Wi-Fi. The unit features a solid build and a very thin case making it strong but also very portable. The keyboard is very usable as is the trackpad which is on the larger side for a netbook. The trackpad also has some nice features to make browsing the web and viewing images much easier.
The battery life is staggering producing over nine hours of power. It also has a number of memory card slots and will take SD, xD and Sony sticks.
The general spec is a fairly standard one for a netbook; 160GB hard disk, 1GB RAM etc. Although the processor does produce pretty good results.
The Acer Aspire One 531 is a nice progression from its predecessor offering higher than average speed and very good battery life. This fits into the “must have” netbook category!
