Sony VAIO E Series Laptop Review

Sony VAIO E Series

Sony have a strong fanbase for their VAIO range of laptops. They have a reputation for excellent build quality and industry leading performance and with the Sony VAIO E series, they manage to continue this tred.

The E series looks great and features a number of colours to choose from. It comes with a matte case which reduces potential for fingerprints all over the case. It comes with a 15″ screen and weighs just over 2.5kg which is not a bad weight for a machine of this size but it does not make it ultra portable.

Like most Sony machines, there are many nice little extra features. The first of these is a raised palmrest which makes it much easier to type on for longer periods of time.

The spec is the machine is very good. Firstly it has a high powered Intel Core i5-520M 2.4GHz processor. This can also overclock when required to nearly 3GHz. The rest of the spec is very strong featuring 4GB RAM, 320GB hard disk and integrated graphics card.

It also features the standard ports covering HDMI, Wi-Fi and an integrated DVD-RW.

The machine performs very well and it is a great machine for entertainment, photo / video editing, browsing the web and multi-tasking.

The battery is the one area that the machine lets itself down. It only delivers about 2 1/2 hours of power from one charge. However, it is possible to upgrade to a higher power battery. Also, based on the size of the machine, it is really meant for home use anyway so you shouldn’t often be far from a power socket.

This is a great choice for a powerful home entertainment laptop that you will definitely not be disapointed by.

Sony have been producing their VAIO range of computers for a number of years now. They are regarded by many as the most stylish range of PCs. For those consumers who are trying to choose which laptop is right for them, the VAIO will fit the bill if money is not an object. They are well regarded as being at the premium end of the market capitalising on Sony’s pedigree in producing premium electrical goods. It is possible to purchase cheaper machines with a similar specification but the company is considered to produce machines that are better constructed as well as looking the best of any Windows based laptops.

The company has been manufacturing VAIO computers since the mid nineties and the range has been growing ever since. They produce a wide range of laptops and netbooks. They ensure that every aspect of the consumer’s experience with the brand is a positive one. After purchasing the machine, it is possible to register with Club VAIO on the Internet. This provides extra support and access to many additional promotions and discounts on related items.

The range is vast but you should take into account your key needs when deciding which laptop to purchase. All of the models feature a letter as their name and they include: CS Series, P Series, SR Series, AW Series and W Series.

If you are looking for a lifestyle machine, then take a look at the CS Series. These machines come encased in a glossy casing that makes the Apple MacBook look boring! As well as being equipped with a great quality specification, they also come with a number of fringe benefits such as integrated camera, Blu-ray DVD player and some of the most advanced wireless technology on the market.

If your machine is going to be used on the move a lot then you should look at the range of mobility machines. These include the recently introduced W Series which is the companies first attempt at a netbook. The P Series which is even smaller and a great option if you need a laptop that will fit in your coat pocket!

If gaming or entertainment is your main focus, then take a look at the multimedia range of machines including the AW Series. These offer a very high specification to cope with processor intensive activities and offer extras such as HD screen, Blu-ray player and superior built in sound quality.

If you are a business user then there are many machines in the above ranges that will meet your needs. If you want an ultra portable, then look at the W or P Series. Or maybe the AW or CS Series will be more to your requirements.

Whatever your needs, Sony has a laptop to suit. There are cheaper machines available from their rivals but if money is no object you would be hard pushed to find a more desirable machine. They also have a great range of best pink notebooks.
