Which Laptop

The Toshiba Portege A600 was released as a more affordable version of their R600 model. It features an excellent casing and very good specification. It is very light at 1.5kg in weight and even features an integrated DVD drive.

It also has some nice extras including a fingerprint scanner and integrated mobile broadband function. The battery life is very good at more than 7 hours which is huge. It has a good specification including a well powered
Intel processor and a very responsive keyboard and touchpad.

Overall, this is a highly portable option with excellent battery life making it a perfect travel companion.

Toshiba have a very strong range of budget laptops and the Toshiba Satellie L300 is another great value machine that gives the impression of one that is more expensive. Even so, it is worth protecting it with one of the better laptop bags available online.

The L300 has a casing and finish of a more expensive machine. As well as looking great, it also feels very solid.
It has a good sized 15.4″ screen that reproduces images and video very well indeed. The keyboard is very responsive and is a pleasure to type on and the trackpad is also great.

The machine features a well powered Duel Core processor with 2GB RAM and 160GB hard disk. The graphics cards is not bad but not the best option for a gaming machine. Battery life is pretty good offering over 2 1/2 hours of power.

If you are trying to decide which laptop to purchase for your budget requirements, then the L300 is a great option.

Netbooks are growing in popularity and the Toshiba NB200 proves a worthy addition to the group. Toshiba have produced netbooks before, but the NB200 is a serious contender. Even though it is very small, it is worth purchasing one of the laptop bags designed for netbooks.

This machine is an evolution from the NB100 and they have managed to push it forward. It looks a lot better and it a lot smaller. It has a great finish to the casing and the keyboard is a vast improvement and there is even space for a wrist rest which is rare on a netbook. It also has a great trackpad.

The screen on the machine is 10.1″ and produces a good resolution resulting in sharp graphics. It features bluetooth and Wi-Fi along with 3 USB ports. It has a unique feature that one of the USB ports can remain activated when the machine is turned off. This allows USB devices to be powered or charged without turning on the machine.

It has the standard netbook specification with 160GB hard disk, 1GB RAM and a well powered Intel processor. As expected, the machine produces nearly 6 hours of battery power. For one of many mini laptop computers, this is not bad.

If you are considering a netbook, then the NB200 is a recommended option due to having the standard spec but some great attention to detail such as the keyboard and powered USB.
