Asus have released another great laptop in their range in the U50Vg machine. This one comes with a larger screen making it an excellent entertainment machine.
It comes with a good sized keyboard that is easy to type on and is also backlit for typing in low light. The trackpad also has a light that follows the path of the finger.
It is not a portable unit even though it weighs less than 2.5kg but it has a large 15.6″ screen. The battery produces a respectable 3 hours of power. The Intel Core 2 Duo processor is good and it also comes with a 2GB RAM and 500GB hard disk which is a great size for storing music and films.
Expansion ports are plentiful covering many USB, HDMI and VGA. It also comes with a DVD-RW player. The keyboard is well positioned and each to type on for long periods.
This is a good machine to replace your desktop and works as a wonderful entertainment machine.

Dell were late entrants to the popular netbook market but they have been evolving their models rapidly and the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is the evolution of their popular netbook.
This updated version features the latest processor from Intel, a better quality Wi-Fi adapter, more USB connectors and the ability to have an even better 1366×768 resolution screen. This extra resolution is a lovely feature for such a small screen and it also comes with a TV tuner which is a first for a netbook and also comes with better graphics processing.
Battery power is strong at over seven hours and it has an functional keyboard.
This isn’t the best netbook on the market but it does tick a number of boxes such as performance, battery life and the welcome addition of a TV tuner!

Asus have managed to cement their position as a leading manufacturer of netbooks. The latest version of their classic machine is the Eee PC 1008P which comes with a fantastic design by the famous designer Karim Rashid.
The machine really looks fantastic. It features a rippled texture to the casing and is finished in a metallic pink cover. The unit features a fantastic battery life of nearly six hours and the machine actually comes with two batteries allowing even more power on the move.
The rest of the spec is pretty standard covering 1GB RAM but one of the latest Intel processors offering slightly faster performance than normal. Also, the hard disk is larger than normal with 250GB of space.
It comes with the standard number of USB and expansion ports as well as the ability to plug in SD cards. It comes with a good 10.1″ monitor and keyboard that is easy to type on.
This netbook looks fantastic and makes an excellent style accessory that also provides the required performance.
